Based in our Manchester office, Adam has been working at Morson Projects since 2022, where at the age of 23 we welcomed him as a Graduate Design Engineer.
We caught up with Adam to hear more about his Early Careers Development Programme journey so far.
Hi Adam! What has your education journey been like so far?

After high school, I attended college to study Maths, Physics, and Geography at A-Level.
Unfortunately, my exams didn’t go as expected, so I went through clearing and ended up at University of Central Lancashire in Preston, where I studied Astrophysics and graduated with a 2:1.
What are some of the most interesting projects you’ve worked on?
Since starting at Morson Projects I’ve been lucky enough to work on several different projects in our Marine Defence team.
What motivates you in your work?
I enjoy learning about different topics and projects, to gain a good understanding of the technical aspect of the job.
How does the company support your professional growth and development?
Morson are really supportive when it comes to professional growth and development.
They are strong advocates for obtaining Chartership, covering the cost of membership and providing access to a wealth of experienced, chartered staff who are eager to offer advice and guidance throughout the application process.
I was really honoured to recently win the Curious Award and be Highly Commended in the Courageous Award at this our annual Early Careers Development Programme event.

What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
I greatly enjoy the learning aspect of my role and am eager to deepen my knowledge in my area of expertise. Ultimately, I aspire to become a specialist in this field.
What tips would you give to others starting out in industry?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions when you’re unsure. Use the knowledge around you to your favor and make the most of it.
Always embrace any opportunity that comes your way, even if it takes you outside your comfort zone. Don’t hesitate to build relationships with colleagues across different teams in the office, as you never know what opportunities might arise from those connections.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I am passionate about maintaining my fitness, so I regularly attend the gym three times a week and play football four times a week. I also enjoy social events, whether it’s dining out or attending a night out, and I’ll be there!
