Based in our Bristol office, Georgia has been working at Morson Projects since November 2023 where at the age of 23 we welcomed her as an Office Administrator and later went on to progress as a Security Vetting Officer.
We caught up with Georgia to hear more about her Early Careers Development Programme journey so far:
Hi Georgia, what has your education journey been like so far?

Choosing a career path can be a daunting task, especially at a young age. When I was in school, I struggled to pinpoint exactly what I wanted to do in the future. At 17, I decided to enter the workforce and began an apprenticeship in the engineering sector. I quickly adapted to the working environment, appreciating the balance between professional life and the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people.
My career took a new direction when I was approached by Morson Projects. Recognising my skills in office administration, they assured me that career progression was a core value within their company. Encouraged by this opportunity, I joined the team, and within just six months, I was offered additional responsibilities, stepping into the role of Security Vetting Officer alongside my office duties.
Looking back, I can confidently say that transitioning into security vetting was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I find immense satisfaction in upholding high-security standards, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-organised workplace. It’s a role that not only challenges me but also allows me to make a meaningful impact every day.
What are some of the most interesting projects you’ve worked on?
I am currently leading a BPSS Clearance Project in alignment with the new HMG 7.0 Standard legislation. Managing this project independently has been an invaluable learning experience, allowing me to deepen my understanding of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance—an area of security I had no prior experience in.
Through this process, I have gained first-hand knowledge of compliance, security protocols, and best practices, ensuring that all guidelines are met effectively. Additionally, this role has provided me with the opportunity to connect with colleagues across the organisation, offering support and guidance to help them meet the evolving security requirements of the business.
This project has not only strengthened my expertise in BPSS clearance but has also reinforced my passion for maintaining high-security standards in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

What motivates you in your work?
What motivates me in my work is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the company. I enjoy taking on challenges that push me to expand my skill set and contribute to the broader goals of the organisation. I am eager to learn, grow, and help others across the company.
Stepping out of my comfort zone is another key motivator for me – it opens doors to opportunities I may never have considered before and encourages both personal and professional growth. Embracing these challenges not only strengthens my capabilities but also drives me to continuously seek ways to add value to the team and the business.
How does the company support your professional growth and development?
As part of the Early Careers Development Program, I actively engage with my Mentor, Becky Veal (Associate Director), who has been great in guiding and encouraging my skill development. Through our regular meetings, I am not only able to communicate my ideas but also gain valuable insights into areas I wish to grow.
This program also offers me the opportunity to connect with individuals across the organisation, participating in learning sessions that help me broaden my knowledge and develop new skills. These interactions allow me to learn from others’ experiences and continuously improve both personally and professionally.
What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
I am excited to further develop my expertise in the security aspects of my role, drawing inspiration from Bonita Watkins, whose professionalism and expertise as part of the Personnel Security team motivate me to continually enhance my skills. I hope to progress within the team, gaining deeper knowledge and experience as I work toward advancing in this field.
In addition to security, I am also excited to explore Aerospace Business Development in greater depth. This will allow me to collaborate with senior members of the company, gaining invaluable insights that will expand my understanding of this critical area. By doing so, I aim to contribute more strategically to the organisation’s growth and success, while further developing my career.
What tips would you give to others starting out in industry?
Don’t be afraid to ask for learning opportunities and career progression. One thing Morson Projects has taught me is if you demonstrate a genuine desire to grow and progress, they will always offer their support.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m passionate about staying active and constantly pushing my limits at the gym. I thrive on finding new ways to challenge myself physically. I also have a deep love for traveling, and most recently, I returned from an incredible trip across Southeast Asia, where I had the opportunity to explore diverse cultures and landscapes.
When I’m at home, I enjoy unwinding with my dog, who always brings comfort and a sense of peace to my day.
