Project overview
Morson Projects undertook the detailed 3D and 2D design and development of the latest version of this proven commercial grade RIB. Inspired by the arduous sea conditions encountered in Shetland (where the builder is based), the hull was developed to comply with Lloyds Register Special Service Craft rules, as well as the latest MCA workboat code regulations.
OUR SOLUTION
The design combines traditional welded aluminium boat building techniques with the latest in chemically bonded construction. A special feature of the design is a patented curved HDPE collar that makes the boat extremely hard wearing.
The latest boats feature double or single 300HP diesel outboard for aquatic purposes, but can be built in a number of configurations, such as waterjet powered SOLAS rescue boats. Variants are currently in use for Harbour Patrol and Police duties, and have operated in many challenging and inhospitable climates, from the Equator to the Artic.
